Provided by YP.comI called Army Mechanics when my 2004 Chrysler Crossfire ignition didn't turn. I knew this was a common problem for my car, so I was expecting to have to replace the ignition cylinder. When David came out to diagnose my car and give me an estimate, I got a reasonable offer of $500 for parts and labor. I gave him the go-ahead and he got to work. After a few hours, he calls me over and talks to me about how he can't get the housing out to do the repair. He explains how he will have to order a whole new housing, along with the cylinder, and that it all comes with a new key. This is where my review goes from what would be a 5-star, to a 1-star.
The new cost for the parts and labor is $1,000. I have no choice now, he's already done work and my car still doesn't work. I've been out a car for a week now and it's affecting my ability to get to work and school.
He orders the parts, which he says come from Germany. I wait a week before they get here, and he gets to work again. He finishes in a reasonable amount of time, and the car starts up as it should. David says there is an issue with the key that came with the ignition cylinder, and he will take it to Chrysler to get it fixed for no charge. I have one working key, so I say that's fine. I should have got that in writing, because I never saw that key, or David, again.
As far as the repairs went, everything seems fine, except as soon as he leaves and I start my car up, a beeping noise constantly chimes when the door is open and the key is in the ignition. My car NEVER did this before David worked on it. What seems to have happened is he failed to put the dashboard back together correctly, and something behind there is causing the car to make a chime until the door is closed, but only sometimes.
I've been contacting David for months now, and I never get a response. I called once, and spoke with a minion of his, and when I explained my situation all he said was to write a trouble-ticket on their website. I have written two or three of these with no response.
Fact is, they're avoiding me because David is telling them to. David may seem like an honest guy, but he is anything but that. I'm glad the rest of these people had good experiences with Army Mechanics, but I did not. Don't trust these guys with anything spoken. Get EVERYTHING in writing, you may regret it if you don't.
What is funny is all I am requesting from them is the key that was promised. They key that I held in my hand, which David said would get repaired. I don't even care if he actually went to get it repaired, I simply want the key I was promised. If you guys are reading this, GIVE ME MY KEY!
