We purchased a beautiful automated gate from Custom Gate Crafters. Visited their shop in Escondido and viewed several gates being made as well as several finished gate. We then had a sales person out to our house after picking out a design we liked.

Their work is outstanding. we have had MANY compliments on our gate and highly recommend...!!!!!

Custom Gate Systems, Escondido, CA - a HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE company !!! They are unprofessional and don't care the tiniest bit about their customers. They installed our new aluminum gate on a cold November day. On the first sunny day the aluminum expanded and the gate could no longer be closed. They installed the gate using way too long blank iron screws. After the first rain rust from the blank iron screws ran down our brand new wall-pilasters. The key for the lock they had installed in the gate did not work. For months neither their office nor their owner, Howard, responded to our calls and emails. Finally we ordered a locksmith to change the lock, and a painter to repair the wall and seal the blank iron screws off. We returned the not working lock/key combination to Custom Gate Systems and they promised several times on the phone and in emails to refund our expenses for the new lock, the locksmith and the painting company "next week". 10 month later we have still not received our refund. Custom Gate Systems owes us $$$$. DO NOT USE Custom Gate Systems, Escondido, CA. Custom Gate Systems are a rip off, their customer service is non-existent, and they don't hesitate to lie straight in your face.

I purchased an aluminum double swing gate that was custom made to my design along with 2 matching walk gates. I am not able to get around very well so a gentleman came out and took all the measurements for me and at the same time we discussed the plans. He was very helpful and gave good advice. I was told it would be 6-8 wks for production. The gates actually took 10 weeks BUT WERE WELL WORTH THE WAIT, all three gates were better than I ever expected. They are a very busy company and now I see why. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone who appreciates a beautiful gate.

We hired Custom Gate Crafters to build a large iron gate for our home.

The workmanship was outstanding and we have nothing but nice things to say about this company. We visited their shop prior to purchasing and found the staff there to be very nice. Gate was beautiful, several people have stopped and asked about our gate.

The quality of workmanship was way beyond our expectations. Mark, the installer, did a very good and professional installation and we absolutely love our new gate. Howard was both friendly and knowledgeable through out the process.

The only issue would be the difficulty, at time, getting a hold of Howard. He seems to spend a lot of time on the road. I would highly recommend this company.

They were up front about some of the issues they have gone through in the last year and they went out of their way to insure we were completely satisfied with our gate. I will gladly share pictures/ information on our new gate for anyone interested. (also we visited their shop prior to ordering our gate...highly recommended.)

I've been a business owner for twenty years and would never have stayed in business with the way they treat customers. They NEVER return phone calls, they rarely answer phones, they promise delivery when we know the gate hasn't been started.



their activities border on the criminal. I've registered a complaint with the BBB to see if i can get my money back. I have no confidence they will deliver anything of value



Howard was quick to take our money up front, and very responsive until he had our cash in hand and then nothing!

Just a warning, this company is very slow on installing your gate but very quick to take your order and your money. They were 2 months late on installation, then they installed in incorrectly. They gate looks nice, is made well but I have several extra holes in it because it wouldn't open without hitting the pavement. I do not recommend this company!
