At Florida Veterinary Referral Center (FVRC) our primary mission is to provide exceptional patient care with outstanding service to you, and your family veterinarian. Our group of specialists, emergency doctors, and highly trained technical staff work closely together, around the clock, ensuring that each pet receives the care and attention needed to get them back to health as soon as possible! As in human medicine, there are times when your pet may require input from more than one specialist. At FVRC we believe in a team approach to veterinary care. Studies have shown that patients benefit when doctors utilize a collaborative or team approach to patient care. As a specialty referral center, our diverse group of doctors work closely with each other, as well as with pet owners and family veterinarians, helping to ensure the best and most comprehensive specialty and emergency medical care possible for your pet, all under one roof.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR SICK PET TO THIS OFFICE. Dr. Haylee Booth was the Dr that night. My amazing sphynx cat Biggles had fluid on his lungs so I rushed him immediately to this facility. She misdiagnosed him with Aspiration pneumonia & GAVE him fluids rather than TAKING FLUIDS out of him with a dietetic. Radiologist took OVER TWO HOURS TO LOOK AT BIGGLES XRAYS to give the diagnosis, but by this time, his little body couldn't process the fluids they gave him & he went into cardiac distress. The Dr had been pumping diuretics into him hourly once she realized her mistake but it was too late. To make matters worse, this staff is heartless & will NOT let you be with your baby when they need you the most.Their facility is NOT SET UP TO HANDLE PORTABLE OXYGEN FOR A CAT, or so they say & you as the parent cannot sit with your baby & calm them down when they need you the most. My baby was there for 5 hours dying & I was allowed two 3 minute visits with my best friend who was crying for me. When I was with him, he reached out for me each time, cried out for me & wanted me to be with him while he was so scared & lonely. Biggles had to remain in an oxygen chamber but then we realized the Dr had set the temp to 72 degrees for my baby who is sphynx cat (hairless) & needed to be warmer than 80 degrees always. He wasn't even wrapped up in the blanket I had given them & he was freezing! When I touched him he was so scared & almost in a hyperthermia state. He passed away after several hours of their torture & then they came running to the lobby to grab me for the last 30 seconds of his life as he passed. To end this tragedy, when Biggles was taking his last 30 seconds of breath, they put me in a chair & placed a portable oxygen mask over his face, WHICH IS WHAT I HAD BEEN BEGGING FOR ALL EVENING SO HE COULD BE IN MY ARMS WHILE RECEIVING HIS OXYGEN. THEY LIED TO ME THE ENTIRE NIGHT & SAID THEY DIDN'T HAVE THIS AVAILABLE! His paperwork indicated hyperthermia. Neglectful, careless & cruel.

Horrible experience

Horrible experience . the doctor was *very* incompetent ,argumentative and helpless . She only cared about the money and not our poor cat. She basically killed him for negligence and malpractice . I would not suggest this place to my worst enemy .
