Our experience with RMHI was similar to Deb. O. We hired them for wall and cabinet painting, carpet replacement and new bathroom countertops. Although RMHI promised a professional team who would finish in two weeks, the painting and supervision were performed by the owner's son and a friend. During the first week, they came up to four hours late -- some days, they left after only three hours. The actions raised doubts that they could plan the job and had requisite skills and tools. We complained to the owner with little effect. After a week, we informed her that we wanted to end the paint work but continue with the carpet. She sent an angry E mail announcing that they would abandon the job. Our current goal is to get a fair return of our deposit. RMHI returned less than one quarter of the amount and have refused to supply any supporting documentation. For example, the labor of the son and his friend was charged at $60/hour, roughly double the rate in Colorado for skilled workers.

RMHI's rating is ZERO. Dealing with them has been a nightmare and I have had to have all the work they did redone, at my expense again. The "expert" laborers RMHI provided were actually the owner's sons. Not only were they unskilled, they never worked more than 4 hours a day, and then they weren't sober. They have no insurance and aren't licensed or bonded (which I found out afterwards). RMHI had claimed they were. The owner is very unprofessional and tried to claim the issues were personal. The cost quoted for phases of the work kept increasing while the amount of work decreased. When asked for an accounting for all the money, the one provided didn't match the work and didn't correspond to the previous information we received. When questioned, RMHI said the initial statements were just swags. We fired RMHI the day 2 independent contractors hired by RMHI told us they hadn't been paid in 6 weeks and that RMHI kept telling them to come back next week. RMHI has now declared bankruptcy.
