Eugene Elementary School provides educational programs to students in prekindergarten through grade six and is located in Eugene, Mo. Its academic curriculum includes physical education, reading, media and technology, special education, science, English, math, health and social studies. Its drug abuse resistance education program provides knowledge about drug abuse, the consequences of abuse and skills for resisting peer pressure to experiment with drugs, alcohol and tobacco. Its students as independent learners program is a class created specifically for gifted students. The students undergo IQ tests, achievement tests, creativity tests and a teacher-scored behavioral checklist to be entered into the class. Its scholastic reading counts is a literature-based motivation and management program designed to get students to read and assist teacher's monitoring students' reading level.
