This store is great, but many of the sales associates are NOT nice and neither are some of the managers. I had only basically yell at me the other day for trying to use a Michael's coupon when I have been told from day 1 that I can use them whenever I want. I have heard bad things about some employees, and sadly have now seen that. There are many good employees there, but look out for the nasty ones. You will know who they are, they have no qualms about showing their anger and disdain for those customers who dare to ask a question or two. Also, they are soo inconsistent about coupons! I have used Michael's coupons every time I shopped there in the past and just a couple days ago was told that is wrong. I had a JoAnn 50% coupon and a Michael's 50% off coupon; both of them were good towards any regular priced item. As a matter of fact, once I purchased 9 boxes of wedding favors and when I did, I literally had 9 Michael's 40% off coupons and I used one coupon per item and saved on every single one. I was told that I could use any coupon I want as long as the date is valid and the coupon number is different, and that I could use any of the following coupons together: a cell phone coupon, e-mail coupon, Michael's coupon and a coupon from the mail. Well, a few days ago the not-so-kind manager on duty informed me that that is NOT JoAnn policy, I could NOT use a Michael's coupon and that whoever told me that I could use it 'was very wrong' (she should have said everyone who told me I could use them was wrong b/c every employee that I have ever asked about coupons has told me I can use them.) The manager told me that I could not use a Michael's coupon then confusingly explained that the only way I could use it on anything at JoAnn's is if it is on an item that Michael's carries. She continued on to say that nothing in my $50 purchase was sold by Michael's, which was not true, I worked at Michael's up til 2 months ago, and many of the things I was purchasing were sold at Michael's. The manager then basically got into a fight with me about it, and I said "I know Michael's sells this" and she tried to tell me that I was wrong, Michael's doesn't carry that item, which was sew-on Velcro (its on aisle 25 @ Michael's for any doubters). The cashier tried to explain the policy & as shes talking, the manager rudely & loudly stated No that's wrong, you're wrong, that's not how it works, basically humiliating the innocent girl on the register for trying to clarify something we were very confused about. The manager begrudgingly let me use the coupon on a 3.99 item, saying 'I guess you can use it this time but if I called Michaels they would tell me they don't carry this.' I said yeah, they do and she looked at me and rolled her eyes saying "since when do they have this? They don't." I wasn't trying to be rude, I was simply trying to communicate that not only was this information all new to me & that I knew Michaels had it seeing as I had bought it before. It isnt that big of a deal, it was the principal. So if you catch the nice staff, there is nothing to worry about & youll have a great experience, but, if you get the not-so-nice staff (and you will know who is who based on how they look at and speak to you), be warned. They can make you feel like you are bugging them and taking up their precious time and they're not afraid to show their disdain or annoyance. If the manager on duty is a grouch, the staff follows & gives subpar service, but if the manager is attentive, kind & helpful, the staff will take that lead and be the same way.
