Scammed into working at the Salem, OR 'Office'. Was told in interview that this would be an office job and that appts for showing product would be made for me nor would I have to make any sales. Last day of training (Of three which were all unpaid) was told that I would be walking door to door for 12 hours trying to make appts to give demos.

The first day (and my last) I had one demo on a hardwood floor that I was not trained for and left alone to do, the second demo took 3 hours. I vacuumed a woman's carpet for 2 hours. She didn't buy it. I made no extra money. This was not the job I was pitched in my interview nor online.

The pay offered to me was $500/wk, $2000/mth. Which is all fine and dandy when it isn't explained that you're expected to work 12 hour days or more and that even if you work all day you may not get that $500 a week. $500 a week in Oregon isn't even minimum wage if you're working 12hrs.

This company hires you as an independent dealer and are not obligated to giving you breaks or a lunch. You are driven by your team leaders in a van which is not kept up to any kind of safety code. I was stranded in Woodburn and had to get my S/O to come and pick me up because my car was all the way back at the building in Salem. I had been expecting to be back in Salem at 5 because that was the standard agreement. What I was told after 5 hours of being on my feet was that I was expected to be out in the rain and 40 degree weather until 9pm. Everyday.

I was also supposed to dress professionally to clean people's houses and walk around like a drowned rat. So I was wearing a skirt, leggings, a blouse, and good boots.

Do not work for them, do not buy from them. The Kirby systems they are trying to sell you are just under $2500 and are more complicated than they are ever going to be worth. They'll lie to you just as any businessman might. My leader exaggerated my nervousness to a client just to sell something no one can buy.
