Provided by YP.comTerrible food, sky high prices and not worth the effort. Customer service was okay but the trip to the business was a waste of time. They need to pay attention to the amount of food they provide for the ridiculous prices they charge-----almost 9$ for a bowl of soup!!!!

Provided by YP.comI was so excited to see Humboldt Soup Company (HSC) open for business. I had heard of Tapas when it was in Redding from a good friend, so my hopes were high. It pains me to say they were unremarkable today and I would further opine they weren't ready to open their doors yet. I ordered a "whole" pulled pork sandwich and wedge potato fries. My wife had a small bowl of vegetable soup with a Greek salad.
The sandwich was the size of a 1/2 sandwich, the fries were under-cooked, while the soup lacked any flavor which would distinguish it from watered down vegetable broth. I asked for ketchup for the fries and was told they don't have ketchup yet? With costco and cash & carry, four miles in either direction, I don't see why not. The sandwich was touted as having a "tangy" cole slaw and a sauce. It lacked flavor...period!
Here are the good things! Everything appears to be fresh. The eating utensils are Green Ware. I think this is right up Humboldt's alley. We did not have to wait long for our food. The restroom was clean (always a plus).
HSC needs to right its ship and be quick about it. Despite what I've said, I think they have enormous potential. I don't think anyone minds paying a lot of money for small portion meals, but the meal needs to excite the palat. We'll gladly return to HSC, but it won't be for a few weeks. Hopefully they will get the bugs worked out by then.
Sincerely!
