Sisters Lucia and Giuliana opened Trattoria D.O.C.'s doors one fine spring day back in 2006 after having successfully opened and run Pizza D.OC in Lincoln Square in 1999. D.O.C. is an acronym for "Denominazione Di Origine Controllata", a wine appellation which requires that a product be produced following strict guidelines to ensure quality standards. Our attention to detail and time honored recipes, along with our predilection for using organically grown fresh produce, sustainable and environmentally friendly fish and meats are the reasons we call ourselves “D.O.C" For us, typical Italian cuisine means cooking with original ingredients from Italy and putting heart and soul into doing it.
