I was excited when the weather broke and decided there would be no more excuses for inactivity. “It’s beautiful outside. Get out there and get moving woman!”, so I rode my bike to run errands, to work, to my second job, and home. While walking my dog, I decided to run. Overkill, you say? So, did my knees…knees that had been previously injured during my professional dancing career and again later during a Muay Thai workout. I could barely hobble and with four children, that does not bode well for productivity. I was newly introduced to chiropractic healing with Dr. Dan and my husband insisted that making an appointment would be the best route. I was unsure of the overall benefit, but I acquiesced. My husband left an early morning message with the circumstances and Dr. Dan squeezed me in within a few hours. He refused to set a time limit on the appointment and was determined to “do what it takes”. By the time I left, I no longer winced when I walked. I listened and rested my k

Dr. Wilke (or "Dr. Dan" as my son and I call him) is a natural healer, as far as I can tell. I mean that even if he didn't do highly effective chiropractic work (which he does, every day), he'd be healing people in some way. My son calls him the "Buddha chiropractor" because of his strong and compassionate way of being.Unlike other chirorpractors I've visited, Dan both attends to the problem and supports your body in developing the solution. When I started seeing Dan, I had horrible back pain from a slipped disc. I couldn't tie my shoes or put away dishes from the dishwasher without tremendous pain. Dan's work reduced the severity of the pain within a few days, and then after a few more weeks it was hardly noticeable...after a few more weeks, it was just absolutely GONE.My son's reading difficulties and attention difficulties have also been helped greatly by Dan's work.I guess what I'm saying is that he's got something special, and I hope you get a chance to see what he can do

I initially went to Dr. Wilke in 2009 for an on going problem with my left knee (pain in back of the knee). I had gone to another chiropractor in Evanston for the same problem, but left this practise when this doctor made an error in an adjustment creating excrutiating pain in my right lower back and leg. The physical therapy to ease this pain took almost a year. I was reluctant to see another chiropractor in Evanston, but with a stroke of very good luck, I discovered the 'gentle touch' technique that Dr. Daniel Wilke practises. After two sessions with Dr. Wilke, I was noticing a big change in my left knee and gradual disappearance of the pain in my right lower back and leg!Dr. Wilke explained that he was working on my nervous system to bring it to a more healthy condition. All of 2009 and into this year I have not used a day of 'sick leave' at my office. I've noticed my body is responding to stress in a more 'grounded' way. Since I'm a dancer, the healing of my left leg and lower ba

I met Dr. Wilke for the first time a few months ago. He has a really down to earth approach with his patients. There are no silly questions that you can ask about your health and he did a great job making me feel comfortable. A large part of what he does is wellness advising. It's good to treat the pain but it's even better to find out the trigger points for it, too. I like that he's not just trying to patch up people and send them out the door. He's trying to get to the core of the problem. I would recommend him to any of my friends.
