As a part of Vanderburgh County in Indiana, the Vanderburgh County Prosecutor's Office is responsible for the representation of the state of Indiana in various felony and misdemeanor criminal prosecutions resulting from crimes committed within the county. It conducts criminal investigations, supervises jury proceedings and enforces child support orders. The office provides information and assistance services for the victims of crime. It also conducts juvenile adjudications and prosecutions. The Vanderburgh County Prosecutor's Office files more than 2,500 felony, over 8,000 misdemeanor, nearly 22,000 infraction and approximately 650 juvenile cases annually. It has several adult protective services units that investigate the reports of abuse, neglect and exploitation for endangered adults and serves Perry, Spencer, Warrick, Posey and Gibson counties in Indiana.
