Founded in 1971, Stockwell Elementary School provides academic and recreational programs for students in kindergarten through grade five. The school offers gifted and talented and special education programs for students with special needs and developmental disabilities. With an enrollment of more than 500 students, its counseling division organizes individual and group counseling sessions. Stockwell Elementary School provides classes in English, science, math, social studies and language arts. The school s curriculum also includes visual arts, music and physical education. It has a media center that stocks a collection of storybooks, puzzles, picture dictionaries, encyclopedias, and fiction and nonfiction books. Stockwell Elementary School offers various athletic activities, including basketball and cheerleading. The school is governed by Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation.
