The apartments are really cute but the office personnel were not nice. After my lease was up they bumped my rent up, so I gave notice because I found a cheaper place that was bigger and fit my needs more. I gave them notice in February which is a short month and they were going to charge me for a full months rent. In February you have until the 9th and not the 10th like most months for the proper 20 day notice. I turned my letter in the evening of the ninth and the girl dated it as the ninth of February. The next day the manager saw it and assumed it was brought in that day. So I was asked to come in. The manager asked my why I was moving and I told her that the rent went up and I found a two bedroom apartment in North Everett for cheaper rent. She then asked why I had not contacted her and explained my situation to her. She said she could have worked something out to keep my rent the same if I had come to her. I told her that I was not aware that they would be willing to do this and I had already financially committed to another apartment. This is where things went bad. She got angry and then told me that I would be responsible for March's rent because I didn't give enough notice. I told her to look at the Notice of Intent to Move letter's date. She did and then left the room and then came back and was even more angry. I left think how strange that they automatically raise your rent after your lease is up only to be willing to bring it down. They dropped the ball by being too greedy. I was an excellent renter. Rent was always paid on time. My mother owned a cleaning business company for 25+ years and had one of her employees clean my apartment...with my mothers help as I was 8 months pregnant. The place was perfectly cleaned...professionally! Come move out day the manager in her ugly nasty face followed me to check how I left my apartment. She went over the place and I got billed for a mark on the wall that was left there from the previous renter (I had not marked it on my move in becasue it was small and I thought it was no big deal) She accused me of having my t.v and that is why it was like that. I didn't even have my t.v there! Nothing was on that part of the wall. I ended up getting charged $30 for cleaning dust in one of the kitchen drawers? I didn't see it and she didn't mention it while I was there. She was angry because she had lost a good renter all because she was greedy and she took it out on me! If you rent there be very careful about filling out EVERY little problem you see on your move in papers. They will charge you for it even if the previous tenant did it. Take pictures and video of before you moved in and after. She probably would have charged me more but I had my husband and other witnesses there who saw how I left it also my mom's cleaning profession. I was willing to take Fultons Crossing to small claims if needed be and she knew it. Be careful of the office staff and protect yourself and money! Grounds were kept very clean and neat.
