I was treated for a very sore and stiff shoulder, difficulty sleeping due to the shoulder pain. Wonderful Doctor and Massage person. Was seen once a week for about 6 wks. Given exercises and I feel so much better. Was treated before with injections and only got worse over time.( by my Physician MD). Would go back if I ever have a need. They are wonderful - Becki

Professional Compassionate Alternative Medicine

I met Dr. Hwa-Sook Lee Newman approximately 6 or 7 years ago. She has an office in Exeter now, but at that time it was in Three Rivers, the gateway to the Sequoia Natl. Forest.

Her demeanor, her bedside manner, her compassion and expertise are unequaled. She is the kindest, most caring person, RN, Doctor of Acupuncture you'll ever need.

Her office is neat. As you enter, there are the soothing sounds of waterfalls, the aroma of herbals, teas; the air is scented and the welcome is grand! In all the years I have been treating - different things, different issues -, I have been treated with kindness, respect, and a considerate manner.

If you are new to acupuncture, do not be afraid. The idea of "needles all over my body" does not sound comforting, I know. But, it is not something to be afraid of. You will benefit and actually enjoy the relaxing experience and the healing that comes from the treatments.

Being in your own private room suite, with soothing sounds, lighting just right, as comfortable as you can imagine, Dr. Newman will come in and begin the session, which will be tailored to your person, to your current state of mind and physical needs. You will experience the effects of the therapy session, and be so relaxed that a lot of times just fall right to a deep sleep that seems to be, in my opinion, a big part of the healing process.

If you happen to need herbals, there is a vast array of choices, and if none will fit you, there will be a personalized herbal combination prepared for you, right in front of your very eyes. From ground to ceiling, there are clear poly drawers on an entire wall with chinese symbols and in those drawers are kept the roots, twigs, seeds, flowers, leaves, tree bark, you name it, that nature has provided for us, and that Dr. Newman knows how to combine for healing the body. She holds her brass balance in one hand, and with the other, collects just the right amount of herbals. Packs them in neat little bundles and you go home with your personalized prescription and perhaps some ointment, tablets, compresses, teas, books, to help you understand your concerns and get well.

One example, a person I know had an allergic reaction. No one seemed to know why. After Emergency Room, Urgent Care Services and a follow up with Primary Care Physician, the rash and the symptoms were worsening quickly... closing the airway (throat), this patient ran to Dr. Newman to see what could or should be done. A change in diet! A quick change in diet of only vegetables of 5 different colors and no meats. If needed/preferred, a white type of fish (tilapia was chosen), and this patient got rid of this misterious rash that was the worst thing you'd ever seen. Two acupuncture treatments 3 days apart, one small bottle of herbal remedy and that was it.

I hope you benefit from the services provided at Sierra Shan. Will not be dissapointed.

These are my personal opinions and do not constitute medical advise of any sort. It is a simple business review. No one paid me to type this, I did it in good faith and because I want to share my good outcome/experiences regarding this business.

Thank You!
