Solimar Colon, PA is a member of Summit Health's Internal Medicine team. Ms. Colon is trained to diagnose and treat adult patients for a variety of common and chronic medical conditions. She provides comprehensive, individualized care with a strong focus on illness and disease prevention.Growing up with a sick parent, Ms. Colon became a primary caregiver at an early age, which is what sparked her interest in the field of medicine. Experiencing illness progression as a young child opened her eyes to the importance of caregiving, health education, and patient advocacy. I believe that the more a patient truly understands about their health and chronic conditions, the better equipped they are to make choices that will lead to better health outcomes, she states. I also believe it is my duty as a health care provider to help break down any barriers to care, so my patients can create a provider-patient relationship that is founded on trust, she adds.When not in the office, Ms. Colon loves to travel and immerse herself in different cultures. She also loves down time with family, being outdoors, and the beach. She is a dog lover and especially loves catering to her mini Schnauzer, Leo!
