Be wary of which company you choose to file your tax returnsâ¦.donâÂÂt use Wilson & Wilson CPA, Fairbanks AK. I thought I was going to a reputable office and provided the CPA with all of my documents needed for my 2019 tax return including information relating to the sale of my home in Vermont. I specifically spoke to Vicki and told her that the Vermont Tax Department requires me as a tax payer to file the RW-171 form to determine whether or not the seller (me) would be subject to capital gains tax on the sale of my home. I advised Vicki to ensure this should be done. When the tax return was completed and emailed to me, I did not see this important form included with my return and called Vicki to inquire why it was not included. She told me that Rocky Wilson said it didnâÂÂt matter and there was no need to file this tax form with the state return. I followed up with Rocky who stated the same and would look into it. Two weeks went by and no word from Rocky. With no response I emailed Rocky providing him links to the Vermont tax department and the required tax form instructing him to file the required form. Why should I be doing his job???? After another two weeks Rocky emails me yesterday and again says the form is not needed. I couldnâÂÂt believe it!!! I had researched this extensively and my real estate attorney said I was required to file this form with my Vermont return. I called Rocky this morning asking him first âÂÂDid you even contact or speak to anyone at the Vermont Tax Department? He said no and again insisted the form was not required. Well, I had!! I was advised by the VT tax department to file the form even if the CPA says no. Plus, their fees are extremely high and their knowledge is substandard! IâÂÂll never use them and you shouldnâÂÂt either!!!!
