Dr. Blais is a Board Certified Family Physician practicing in Fairbanks since 1989. He started his own clinic on August 16, 1999. Dr. Blais is an Active Staff member at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital (FMH). He is currently the Chairperson for the Department of Family Medicine at FMH.
Dr. Blais graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1976 with a degree in Life Sciences. He then went to the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, graduating with a Dotorate in Osteopathic Medicine in 1980. Dr. Blais completed a 1 year general internship at Garden City Osteopathic Hospital in Garden City, Michigan in 1981. The US Air Force provided a scholarship to Dr Blais to fund medical school. He paid back part of his obligation at Vandenburg AFB, CA as a Flight Surgeon 1981 - 1983. From 1983 - 1985 Dr. Blais went back into a Family Medicine Residency at Scott AFB, IL. Dr. Blais was then assigned to Eielson AFB, Alaska. In 1989 Dr Blais completed his USAF obligation. He worked at Fairbanks Clinic from 1989 to 1999, then started his own practice.
Dr. Blais is married to Christina and has 4 children, all young adults persuing different careers: Kirk, Keith, Mika and Onni.

No other Family Physician or Internal Medicine physician is still providing that level of care in Fairbanks. Special services include colonoscopy, esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), and no-scalpel vasectomy FAA medical exams for Class I, II, and III medical certificates. Dr. Blais has over 30 years experience in aviation medicine. No answering service - when you call the office after hours, you speak with Doctor Blais personally Appointments generally available within 1-3 days, sometimes same day. This practice is what is sometimes called a "Hybrid" medical practice. New patients are accepted on a case-by-case basis. The number of patients in the practice is limited so we can provide better service to our patients. In return, patients pay an additional annual retainer fee much like a membership fee. Under age 25 - no annual fee. Age 25 - 39: $120 per year; age 40 - 59: $240 per year, and age 60 and older: $360 per year.
