my family hired mark bodner to defend me in a criminal matter in arlington and fairfax counties. they paid around $13,000.00 upfront. first he never got me bond, he was always late for court appearances according to my family members. once he said he had to go to the law library in arlington courthouse, and while he is gone they called my case when judge alper found out he was not present she hit the roof, and ordered my mother to go find him. when finally in the courtroom he was totally unprepared and the judge went ballistic when he claimed he was not familiar with arlington county court procedure. she refused to hear the case because he hadn't filed it correctly, and judge newman was pulled out of chambers to hear the case. newman was pissed off and we lost the suppression hearing due to bodner's incompetence. if i would have kept bodner as a defense lawyer i would have without a doubt gotten 10 years easy. my family and i fired him and replaced him with a brilliant law firm from alexandria. the lawyers that represented me after bodner got 2 major charges dropped, and i only did 20 months which i had almost completed by the time i made a plea. i got out in january of 2010, and have been putting my life back together one day at a time. mr. bodner was also the most arrogant unsympathetic person i ever met as well considering all the money we paid the fool. if you need a lawyer DO NOT USE MARK BODNER!!!!!. as far as ranking him there isn't anything to rank mark bodner too except defending jaywalkers.
