Gary John Scheib, DPM
9918 Main St, Fairfax, VA 22031
Dr. Gary Scheib earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, where he was a Dean’s List student. Following his graduation, he served residencies in primary podiatric medicine, orthopedics and surgery through the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland. During that time, he had the opportunity to work with patients of many ages, backgrounds and health challenges at the Bethesda Naval Hospital, Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, Maryland, and the Premier Surgical Center in Washington, D.C. He is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association.
Prior to his podiatric studies, Dr. Scheib earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, and later attended George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. He spent more than 20 years in the retail footwear industry, including an eight-year tenure as department manager for Nordstrom, Inc., a company nationally recognized for its high standards of customer service and satisfaction. He also served for more than 10 years as district manager of a major shoe distribution company based in Canton, Massachusetts.
Dr. Scheib, who has always enjoyed helping people and solving problems, believes that successful doctor-patient relationships depend on both medical expertise and communication. Having helped thousands of people over two decades find comfortable, properly-fitting shoes, he gained a unique perspective on the difficulties and frustrations faced every day by those with foot and ankle ailments.
Dr. Scheib enjoys playing golf and fishing. He lives in Paris, Virginia, with his wife, Trisha, and son, Cameron. They share their home with a rather temperamental Jack Russell terrier.
