Not what I expected

The presumption is that if a vietnamese restaurant's name includes the word 'Pho', that it is authentic and delicious. There are two types of Pho...Authentic or Instant Noodle. Pho Saigon No 1 is an Instant Noodle Pho where it tastes like they mixed up an instant noodle soup which takes about 10 minutes to cook...not like the ones you order and it comes out within 3 minutes because it took 8 hours to make and it is ready to serve upon order. I thought maybe it was a bad bowl, so I came back and tried it again. Yep, watered down, instant noodle soup without the true authentic beefy broth. The closest authentic Pho is in Vallejo, but the best one is either in Oakland or Pleasant Hill.

The rice dish; however isn't bad at this place, but not the restaurant to go to if you're craving the beefy pho after a night of drinking. The hoisin sauce is store-made, not home-made so it doesn't quench that taste with the beef.

Got Pho?

Best pho in town. Clean, cozy interior. Fast, friendly service. Love their pearl drinks.
