Taberna was originally opened in Bridgeport in October 2008 by Jaime Lopez and his brother Daniel serving Nuevo Latino Cuisine. The restaurant is nestled on Madison Ave. in Bridgeport in a two story house. It has a front dining room seating approximately 30, a main dining room seating about 50 and a full bar also with tables. In summer months the restaurant has an outdoor patio for outside dining. The food is tastefully presented, eating it is even more fun! The newest addition is Taberna II in Fairfield, CT, which was opened in June 2015. Tucked away in the Brickwalk Shopping Center, the restaurant has a glass wall dining room where you are sitting by a colorful painted mural on the wall. There is also seating in the large bar area with a glass wall over looking the outside patio which is lined with an herb garden and seasonal flowers.
