Spearman automotive’s missio...

Spearman automotive’s mission statement on their Facebook page is “To NEVER have a dissatisfied customer.” My experience however was completely unsatisfactory. My car broke down on highway 45, and never having to do any repairs on my car I assumed I could call a repair shop and I could expect my car to be fixed. I talked to Jeff Spearman and he sent out a wrecker and gave me and early assessment (that was the best part of the Spearman experience, the expediency to pick up your vehicle then waste your time afterwards). We towed it to the “repair shop.” The shop is located in the town of Fairfield – in a small, run down building, with stripped out car shells strewn about. Which on their Facebook page they say their shop features “All updated equipment and fully trained staff,” what a joke. Immediately I felt uneasy, but having no other option I left it there. Jeff said that it would take around 1-2 days to receive the part and do the repairs, I believed him and decided to see what happened. I called Jeff after day 2 and asked what was the status was of my car. Evidently they needed an additional part that cost “less than $10.” So he said it should be there the next day. The next day when I called he said they hadn’t been received it yet and that it was his suppliers fault. So I had to wait another day. I called again the day after, he said that the wrong part had been sent and that they had to order it again. In the meantime when I called the shop I talked to several of his mechanics and when I talked to them they had told me that “we do not have the schematics for your mustang and are having trouble finding it” which greatly concerned me as I would hope that someone who is repairing my car needs to know what they are doing. Eventually I got ahold of Jeff and asked him about the schematics and he told me that “his mechanics don’t know what they are talking about and I should only talk to him for reliable information.” A sinking pit of despair started in my stomach. Finally the part arrived around 5-6 days after his initial estimate for completion, and Jeff told me it should be completed soon. Then when they were putting the car together they found another problem. When I asked about it they said they would give me an estimate and options. Jeff called me back a few days later saying what my two options were with some brief pricing quotes and I told him I would think about it. I thought about it and called Spearman Automotive back Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. No answer, left messages, no reply. Called Friday, someone finally picked up and said that he would leave a message for Jeff as he was too busy working as a firefighter. Jeff never returned my call. 4 Days later I called back and got ahold of one of his employees again, I told him to put the car back together and that I was towing it to the Ford dealership. I ended up having to scrap the car, if he had been a better mechanic he would have told me to do that from the beginning (Just read the Wikipedia for “timing chain”) I would advise greatly against using Spearman Automotive for even the simplest of car problems. Their service and communication is extremely poor, equipment on site looks like war zone, and general professionalism is nonexistent. I was lied to nearly every time I called and never felt fully comfortable with their operation. All of their positive reviews are from their local friends/family in the surrounding area and do not reflect the customer service that they give passing motorists.
