Hip Hop Fish & Chicken is overcharging consumers who prefer the cheaper coleslaw over fries. The store located at 5337 Sheriff Rd in Capitol Heights, MD is over charging costumers for not wanting their French fries. On Saturday, 3/14/15, I ordered a catfish nugget dinner. I asked them to replace the fries with coleslaw. They gave me an 8 oz coleslaw. On, Monday 3/16/2015, I placed the same order at approximately 12:30 PM.



Again, I asked for no fries, but asked for my coleslaw to up upgraded. I was immediately told that there was an additional $.50 charge. I ask "Why when the 8 oz coleslaw is cheaper than the French fries?" I also informed the guy who answered the phone that they had just replaced my fries for an 8 oz coleslaw the day before. Then asked "Why are you charging me extra today?" The guy informed me that he was not there and "no" he would not give me the larger one. He got a little snappy with me and stated that I can get an extra small, which cost $0.50, but that was it.



They are cheating customers who prefer coleslaw over fries. According to their website, a side dish of fries is $1.49 and a side dish of 8 0z. coleslaw is only $1.29. That is a $0.20 difference. In addition to that savings, the employee wants to add an additional $.50 for the cheaper switch. I've made repeated purchases from this location in the past. However, I never realized that they were cheating me until the young lady upgraded my coleslaw the previous Saturday. This store is saving money and making additional money for a simply switch of a side order that is again already cheaper in price.



Customers should not be penalized for not wanting fries. In addition, this store does not give out receipts for cash payments, which is also an issue that I have. I have wrote the corporate office, but have received no reply.
