I hate to say this but perhaps it will get the owners back on track. I had my wedding there 3 years ago and it was beautiful, cozy, reasonable and great service and amazing food... So I recommended it to a couple of my friends.
They were told it had been sold and was going to be completely updated and renovated over the winter and all set and better than ever for their wedding.
Well it was last week and it was by no means finished. The paint is white primer, the lobby has no furniture, corners are filled with old furniture , no pictures or character or even an attempt to make the lobby comfortable, the bathroom has the wallpaper stripped off and nothing to replace it... The outside had a tree down halfway over the stairs and the gardens were not cleaned up much at all.
The wedding was nice and the ballroom has been redone well... Service still wonderful and the food good... But the family was pretty darned dissappointed in the unfinished renovations. They had several older relatives waiting before the ceremony and they had no where cozy to sit...It used to have a cozy couch and fireplace... I am sad and really sorry I talked them into it at this point.
I hope they can get the place back to its former comfort level at least...This family spent a lot of money and traveled far to have their special day here... Ugh...At least they could have picked up the pieceof a car bumper off the front porch. Come now new owners... get it done!!!!
