CLOSED NOW - Opens at 8:30am

I lived in far Rockaway for four year and left before the storm. I came back to NYC and needed medical care so i went to this hospital and i was shocked how it is now ran. The clinics are closed and the emergency room stunk of something horrid. I had to cover my face while passing through it. It looked like a war camp beds all out in the middle of the floor. I know this once was a great hospital and after the storm damaged it there has to be time to rebuild it but seriously it's been two years. Since this is the only hospital left there something should be done to restore this once great hospital.

The whole hospital seems to have uneducated staff and doctors. Went to the ER and the nurse completely split my vein and had blood everywhere, they didn't check on me for 2 hours while laying in pain... They "forgot" to give me painkillers and oxygen as I finally started to take the cords off and dis charge myself so that my husband could take me elsewhere.. That's when they "all of a sudden" wanted to be of help .. this was after laying there from 8a-12:30p in excruciating pain. They said they would take care of it and to see a doctor the next day for a referral to a cardiologist. I went back the next day only to be linked up with a resident that had no idea what she was doing and told me she "could NOT" give me the referral even though I already had the appointment for this coming Monday- Just needed the referral to go to it. She said she could only refer me back to the ER. This is only a 1/4th of what happened while at this hospital! I will NEVER go back here!! The staff, nurses, and doctors are extremely rude and of no help. I am definitely now, still in search of a NEW hospital. It's a shame Peninsula Hospital closed down in the area! That was a GREAT hospital with overwhelmingly a GREAT staff on all levels along with the concern and care they gave!
