dont get the eggs. or the toast. or the...

My parents were in from out of town and we wanted to take them to a restaurant that would wow them, so we chose IHOP. We arrived at 8:30am on a Sunday morning; there were very few cars in the lot. About half of the tables were empty. Our group had to wait 15 minutes just to sit down at a table that had been empty even longer. At that time I had to ask for a towel to wipe down the side of the table where something had spilled and crusted on. Same with my Father. We put in our orders and they came back as follows: My Mother had the 2x2 with the eggs over medium. When she cut into them, the egg was so raw that the white part mixed with the yolk which came spurting out onto the plate. She sent them back and received a replacement which was not better. After seeing how my Mother's issue was handled, we did not send anymore back; here is the jist of it. My Father and my Brother-in-law's meals were OK. My sister had the French Toast combo with hard toast (old) and eggs not done. My niece had pancakes with liquid middles. My other niece had stuffed french toast that was hard. My fiance had the viva la french toast combo in which the french toast was tough. I had the pancake combo with scrambled eggs where they forgot to butter my substituted toast (which ended up very hard) and the eggs were ice cold. I suppose we could have sent these back but after seeing my Mother's plate come back we knew that would not solve the issue...plus we should not have to send back 6 out of 8 plates of food! We would have talked to the manager if he would have stepped a pinky toe on our side of the restaurant. Even if he had been near the expression on his face was not even close to approachable. The bill came to $70 and we paid it. As we walked out we vowed to NEVER go back to that restaurant. I will be continuing to post online my review of this restaurant. No one should have to pay for a meal like that.
