Provided by YP.comWe have had a number of occasions to use Yellow Cab in Farmingdale. There is a female dispatcher during the day who is VERY rude and obnoxious! Not only is she nasty and abrupt with us when we call, but we have also heard her degrade the drivers over the radio while we are in a cab! This is disgraceful behavior on her part. Once when I was not sure of the exact location of my destination, I asked the driver to ask for a confirmation over the radio, and she was so demeaning and insulting to him that it made us sick to our stomachs! The drivers are MUCH more polite and professional than she is. These are grown and mature men, and it's sickening to hear her put them down. Isn't she supposed to work TOGETHER with them for the better of the company and passengers? Sometimes when we call and she is particularly rude and snotty with us, we just hang up and call Checker. I have to PAY for this? I do not know how the drivers put up with it. This dispatcher needs a refresher course on how to speak with employees and clients or to change jobs! It's absolutely disgusting.

Provided by YPmobileMade an appointment the night before. Driver never showed. When I called 5 mins after they should have been at my house, the guy said another 10 mins. There's a reason we make reservations. Almost missed my flight. Had to have my wife drive me...baby and all.

Provided by YPmobileYou would think that since you are paying for their services that they would be polite and cordial. The drivers don't have any manners. They are quick to give the customers attitude and act like they are doing them a favor. read less

Provided by YP.comYellow Cab Farmingdale treats their customers like cattle. Their existence is a great example of why oligopolies (like OPEC) are evil and need to be regulated. They charge through the nose. They load you into a car with as many other people as they can fit, often squishing three grown adults in the back seat. The more you pay, the more stops you have to sit through. You get to pay the highest fare in order to be driven around on a rollercoaster through the entire area of Farmingdale dropping off all the other passengers. Here are some highlights:
- Cab driver insisted on picking up four people before the train time, though there was not enough time. We only made our train because the train was late.
- Cabs frequently insist on picking people up more than double the time necessary to get to the rail. Wait times experienced range from 15 minutes to 45 minutes, all of which I could have been at work and paid for.
- Cab company sent a driver unfamiliar with the area who wanted to charge 10% more, though customer had receipts to prove that was not correct. This driver also got lost on the way there and passengers missed the train. This driver also refused to provide his name upon request. This is a violation of COGSA.
- Call to complain about previous driver: company said “you can please some people some of the time; you can’t please all of the people all the time” and hung up.
- Cabs frequently have broken seatbelts. This is a violation of COGSA. When customers complain, drivers make jokes about it; they never say anything about fixing it.
- Drivers see Stop signs as recommendations more than requirements.
- Drivers don’t wear seat belts.
Yellow Cab is a conglomeration of unprofessional, disrespectful people that do not belong in any service job. If I can help it, I will never use Yellow Cab Farmingdale, or any other Yellow Cab company, again. I’ll go with their competitor, Checker Cab, which is not much better, but at least I’ve never missed a train with them and their drivers and dispatchers have a little more respect. What it comes down to is both companies need more competition so that they are forced to be more professional and abide by the law.
