In 1974, business owner, Pete Hankins was approached by his children's swim coach to provide recognition awards and ribbons to the swimmers. A small ribbon press was purchased and placed in the manufacturing department of his existing business. Who would have known that this piece of machinery would lie the foundation Contemporary Industries. As word spread of the original and only ribbon manufacturer in the state of Michigan, so did business.... For over 35 years Contemporary Industries has provided custom awards and recognition items for corporate, school, club and individual needs.
