Fairfield County Sheriff's Office offers a range of services for the prevention of crime. The department has several specialized units, such as special response, K-9 canine, crime scene investigators, school liaison and resource officers, police student alliance program and community policing teams. It also offers the Police Athletic League, which is a recreation-oriented juvenile crime prevention program that relies heavily on athletics and recreational activities to tighten the bond between police officers and children in the community.
