Mid Michigan Community Action Agency, established in 1966, is a nonprofit organization that undertakes community-based projects throughout Bay, Clare, Gladwin, Mecosta, Midland and Osceola counties in Michigan. The services offered by the organization include advocacy and case management; job development and employment support; wage subsidies and food programs; temporary housing and shelter support; and educational and literacy programs. It undertakes hunger and poverty eradication and early head start programs for children and parents that include child and family development, health and nutrition services, support for children with disabilities, mental health services and community outreach programs. The organization also provides financial aid, and provides vocational training and technical assistance to low-income individuals for expansion of businesses. Mid Michigan Community Action Agency is headquartered in Clare, Mich.
