Regarded as the oldest hospice in the state, Washington Regional Hospice is the only local program of its kind that is accredited by The Joint Commission, the nation’s leading accrediting agency of healthcare organizations, and is the only hospice in Northwest Arkansas that is affiliated with a locally governed, community-owned, not-for-profit medical system. “Washington Regional Hospice has a long tradition of assisting patients and families during this stage of life,” Dr. Bradley says. “Our team is honored to provide support and care for our patients and their families, thus allowing them to fulfill their goals and focus on living life to its fullest.” Hospice utilizes a team approach to lend support to the patients and their families. The team consists of the hospice medical director, nurses, nursing assistants, social workers, chaplains, volunteers and the patient’s physician.

- The 24,500-square-foot home, which opened in 2011, was designed to help patients and families feel supported and comfortable. It features a glass-walled chapel overlooking a tranquil nature preserve, a library, kitchen, family dining room, laundry room for guests, sun porches and a room designed for children with a TV, games and books. The home offers a beautiful and peaceful environment, along with a specially designed care program that promotes comfort, dignity and peace: 12 private rooms, each with a family suite and outdoor terrace One-to-four (1:4) nurse-to-patient ratio, 24 hours a day, seven days a week The hospice team includes hospice and palliative care certified physicians and RNs, social workers, chaplains, grief counselors, volunteers and physical therapists Family and friends encouraged to visit Pet visitation
