Exactly one year after a groundbreaking ceremony signified the start of construction of the Willard Walker Hospice Home, the Washington Regional Hospice staff opened the doors of the new facility for their first patient on October 18th 2011. The official groundbreaking ceremony for the home, located at 325 E. Longview St. near Washington Regional Medical Center, was Oct. 18, 2010. Construction was made possible with a lead gift of $2 million from the Willard and Pat Walker Charitable Foundation Our inpatient hospice home offers a beautiful and peaceful environment along with a specially designed care program that promotes comfort, dignity and peace at a time when families need it most.
