Personally, This has been the absolute worst car buying experience of my entire life!!!
I ignored the numerous negative reviews on Google and yellow pages, purchased a vehicle from them approximately 2 months ago. The vehicle's already misfiring all over the place, and currently non-driveable.
I have to travel from site to site for work, I stressed how important it was for my vehicle to be in sound condition. I was assured everything was good and even if there were be any issues, they'd be glad to help take care of it.
I did give them an opportunity to fix the problem. A tune-up was supposedly was all I needed. I hesitantly paid them an extra $239.00 for the tune-up hoping it would get me back on the road and back to work (yes I was charged for a tuneup. They claim all they're responsible for is tge inspection, the vehicles aren't tuned-up before sale)
The tune-up fixed nothing. Now I'm out of even more money. Please note I've been unable to work for 2 + weeks because of this vehicle and it's issues.
I'm not quite sure what my legal options but I intend to pursue them to every possible degree.
Again, take your hard earned money to a more reputable car dealership.
Their one or two positive reviews are from employees or acquaintances.
I wouldn't wish this on anyone, especially at this time of the year.
Please beware.

Provided by YPmobileWish I could give negative stars! I bought two trucks from this company one truck was a monthly payment and the other was bi weekly payment. We just payed monthly because it was easier for us.two months after the purchasees they sold our contract to a credit company without notice from them I started receiving calls from two credit company's wanting payment from me. I engorged both and continued to pay fitzgeralds. They sent the payments to this credit company. Te company mid atlantic financial out of Florida was the actual company that ended up with the contract this is a.company.with one star from the better business Bureau .there employee were unprofessional and lacked education on who to collect. Would call me non stop even though my payment wasn't late. I always payed monthly.so the next month I payed the month and still received calls from them saying it was late. Here because some mother had a extra week they wanted it payed I told th I always payed monthly. They said I was caught up on payments (again they weren't trained on there polacy) finally got woman she knew what was going on . And now during this time they reported my payment late to the credit bureau. I was livid ! So my husband dropped off check to fitzgeralds and two days later they showed up saying check bounced and they wanted the truck. My husband went to atm pulledone out and gave it to them. And guess what money was in the bank. Check didn't bounce . Now they got 700 dollars instead of 350. Can't and that is only half of the story. Just stay away far far away !

Provided by YP.comAccording to North Carolina Lemon Law, it is required that automobile manufacturers repurchase or replace a vehicle that has not been properly repaired within four attempts or if it has been out of service and awaiting repair for a cumulative total of 20 or more business days during any 12-month period of the warranty. There is specified lemon law currently in effect in the state of North Carolina for used cars. Therefore, those poor people who buy used “lemons” from dealerships are instructed to either rectify the situations on their own or notify the dealer and hope for the best, which (by my experience) does not always turn out so.
On 18 December 2007, I purchased a 1998 Pontiac Sunfire GT from Fitzgerald’s Car Company in Fayetteville, North Carolina. About two and a half weeks later, a piston rod shot through the motor block and put my car completely out of commission and me out of work. I made numerous attempts to have the dealership rectify the situation in the days that followed with very little success. I was repeatedly told that the only responsibility they had to me was to honor their half of the 50/50 dealer-written limited warranty I had been given with the keys (no copies of remaining paperwork were ever given to me).
Superbowl Sunday (February 4th) was the day that I sent in the first fax. It details the extent of the damage and gave an estimate for a used motor with a 90 day warranty as well as an estimate for the parts and labor that would potentially accompany the repair of my vehicle. At that point in time, I was very hopeful about having my problem solved, as I was then told that the dealership would do what they could as long as I could have the car towed to them. Dutifully, I looked for someone to tow my car from Godwin, NC back to Fayetteville. When I had someone in mind, I called the cell phone number I was given to contact the service manager, as did the towing company, and neither of us heard from the company in the weeks that followed.
When this happened, I repeatedly called the dealership and asked to speak with the co-owner (who sold me the car in the first place) or the service manager and was told over and over again that they were a) out of the office for business purposes b) out sick or c) busy and could not come to the phone but would reach me whenever they could.
Nearly three months after that initial fax, my situation has not yet been rectified. The service manager still insists that I be responsible for the towing bill, which is roughly $250, and I have been told that there is no legal action available to me, regardless of the extensive suffering I have gone through because I still have no vehicle and no job.
Just yesterday I did quite a bit of research about the North Carolina lemon laws that are in place for consumers like myself, and an interesting tidbit popped up during my hours of research: “…An express written warranty can be either a) the balance of a manufacturer’s warranty, b) a separate limited warranty given by the dealer, or c) an extended warranty of service contract you purchase from the dealer at the time you purchase the vehicle. If you have such a warranty, the substance of the new car lemon laws apply."
