Provided by YP.comThese people are totally incompetent. I’ve been looking for somewhere to board my dog in late December; and, I stopped by Pet Starz on Ramsey St. three Saturdays ago to check it out. I was told that after they receive Zoe’s (my dog) shot records, and if she passes a temperament test, I could take a tour of the facility. After having my Vet. fax them the required document, I returned the following Saturday, at the appointed time, to be told that there weren’t enough dogs present to do a proper temperament test. And, Zoe will have to attend a couple of days of daycare prior to acceptance. So, I made an appointment for the following Saturday. After reading, on their questionnaire, that she was not currently on any flea and tick medication, she was rejected. This was the first I had heard anything about flea and tick medication being a requirement. After voicing my complete displeasure, about having been inconvenienced by this run-around, I stormed out of that place―never to return. If these people treat everyone like they treated me, it’s a wonder they have any business at all.

Provided by YPmobilePlease do not believe several of the bad reviews on here. This place is wonderful! My dog went to daycare at another business, and I was just not happy with the conditions. It was then that I decided to try Pet Starz. I am so glad that I did. My dog loves it here. I take her 4-5 days a week. Also, my dog can often be difficult to deal with (puppy energy). The staff are always polite and helpful when discussing anything related to her. I really can't say enough good things about this place. You and your dog will love it!

Provided by YPmobileI took my dog in for grooming and was told if the dog weighs over 20lbs that it would cost more to groom. I have a cockapoo and he weighed 21.7lbs at the vet 2 months earlier, however he was having bowel problem and undergone surgery to fix it and since hadn't been eating correctly. When the groomer took my dog to weigh him she come back and said he weighed 32 pounds...I told them there is no physical way that he weighs that much. I honestly don't know how they can say what any dog weighs bc they use a human scale. So beware bc ur more than likely over paying. After leaving pet stars I took my dog to pet smart & had him weighed, he weighed it at 19.8, then I took him to his vet the next day and had him weighed he again weighed in at 19.8 lbs. When I called pet stars and talked to deb, the rude n nasty half owner, she accused me of lying and wouldnt let me get a word in. She talked down to me and treated me horrible. I will never take my dog there again. I also would not recommend anyone else either, unless you want to over pay and be treated like an idiot n spoke to like a child.

Provided by YP.comI am absolutely shocked by some of the negative reviews I have read on here. I moved to the area two years ago and being a full time teacher, having a second job, and going to graduate school I knew right away to start searching for a daycare. I have always been treated with respect and my dog cannot wait to get to daycare. I take her two, and if I am super busy, three times a week. I never worry if I have to go out of town because I know she has a wonderful and loving place to stay.
My dog has had some serious health issues and I was unable to take her to daycare for almost two months. Deb called every other week to check and see how my dog was doing and to let me know they were thinking of her and hoping for the best. Luckily the best happened and my dog resumed her usual bi-weekly daycare visits.
When my dog had her birthday I brought in a doggy cake and they had a doggy birthday party. They take pictures which they posted to their website and even sent to my cellphone. Plus they even got her a card!
There is a reason they were named the best place for doggy daycare in Fayetteville. Think about the publicity that came with it. Of course they are going to be insanely busy on a popular holiday weekend. Take that into consideration when you come to check in or check out your dog.
Please do not listen to any of the negative reviews. I highly recommend this place and me and my dog will continue to go here for years to come :-)

Provided by YP.comI would say that it's worth trying out but its definitely not for every dog. When I first started taking my dog here it was for daycare. He came back happy and full of energy from playing. I started using the groomers and it took a couple tries to really communicate with the groomer what I wanted but no harm no fowl...he still came out looking (and smelling) dapper. When I had to go on a trip and couldn't bring my dog with me I decided to use them for overnight boarding and it was here that I had the real issue. I do not in any way blame the staff. They are wonderful and absolutely love my dog and he's quite the ladies man. I have had times when I felt the owner was abrasive but I'll be honest....I take it with a grain of salt because I can tell she is passionate about the dogs and her business and we all have our days. When I picked up my dog from boarding he was tired....exhausted and stressed. He wouldn't leave my side even for me to pee. This wasn't my first time boarding him so I wasn't really sure what was going on with him and it just about had me in tears because I felt like a bad mommy. After leaving town again and boarding him elsewhere I've come to the conclusion that my dog just likes his private time. I will continue using Petstarz for grooming and day care but will be taking my furbaby to another place to overnight board because when he's done playing he's just done playing and likes to be alone. I think an entire weekend without having his own space and constantly being around other dogs just unnerved him. So like I said...not for every dog in the overnight area.

Provided by YP.comMy dog has been in daycare plenty of times, actually 3-4 times a week for more than a year, and I should have trusted my instinct to know that this place is not legitimate in the care of an animal.
Essentially after one night of daycare and boarding, my dog came home in really bad shape. Her paws wouldn't stop bleeding (which I understand that roughing up paws can be somewhat normal), she couldn't sit down, she stopped eating and drinking, and she became lathargic. My husband and I kept watching her for a couple of days in which we are now taking her to the vet because she's acting as if she is not quite lucid anymore.
As I called the owner to disclose all the information, (second time calling - I was never called back after the first) she denied everything as well as told me 'she wasn't responsible for the well being of any animals left.' Please tell me if this place is where you would like to leave your pet?!
No responsiblity will be claimed nor does the owner care about our dog's well being. Our pup is just barely two, and can bounce back from just about anything, so this behavior is extremely concerning and abnormal for her... I could not be more upset, hurt and disappointed. I'm sad that I even trusted this place as it is a total dump (which should have been my first clue), the owner is scattered, and the after effects have been disgusting. I feel horrible for my dog that she had to go through such a poor level of care through her stay there.
I'm seriously concerned for anyone that continues to take their pet to this place.... Please take this as a warning as I have been further talking to friends that have used this facility and have stopped for the same reasons. It's not worth the strong possiblity of your pet becoming injured or ill.

Provided by YP.comI am so grateful to have a business like Pet Starz near my home! My very energetic, fence-jumping 2-year-old dog has been going to Pet Starz 1 or 2 (or even 3!) times a week for daycare since she was 8 months old. It can be a hectic place, especially during drop-off and pick-up, so be prepared for that. The staff is busy at those times! But they are always willing to accommodate their clients (fit in last-minute boarders, make time for a grooming during a daycare visit, etc), and they are amazing with the dogs. We are lucky to have them in North Fayetteville!

Provided by YP.comI took my dogs here for the first time today. I have a 7 yr old lab and I am also fostering a 9 month old lab mix. My 7 yr old HATES any kind of daycare/boarding experience and is usually traumatized when I pick him up. We left the boys there for a half day of boarding and my dog had SO much fun. He wasn't anxious to leave and be in fact didn't seem to want too. I will definitely be taking them back in the future. I would have given a 5 star rating but the check in process was kind of confusing and they didn't know if my dogs were there for daycare or boarding nor did they realize I hadn't filled out any paperwork beforehand. Other then that my dogs were obviously well cared for and had a ton of fun! I think the only thing that would have made my dog happier was to have somewhere to swim!

Provided by YP.comWow! I love this place!!!! I was stunned by the shabby-chic decor, I had never seen such a welcoming doggie daycare before. That place was cleaner that a kindergarten room. The girls were so nice and treated my lil Yorkie, Winton and Lulu my toy Aussie with so much love and affection, I thought I might never get them out of there. I just found this place and it's perfect when my husband and I go away for vacation because I can totally trust them. I highly recommend you check this place out, at least take a tour, you will be amazed! LOVE, love, love.

Provided by YP.comHORRIBLE, ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE SERVICE. Not sure where to even start...
Deb the owner was completely unprofessional, rude, snappy, and left me feeling like I had just had a fight with a girl in junior high school. After a misunderstanding about their hours of operation I was literally yelled at like a child, my husband was accused of trying to sneak into their facility to take our dogs back (which was absolutely untrue and offensive), and berated for simply ASKING if we could pick our dogs up early from her facility. WTF kind of business is run like this and treats customers like criminals, questions their moral fiber, and calls them liars? (And in our own defense I am a Registered nurse and my husband is in training for Special Forces)...I would NEVER EVER recommend Pet Starz to anyone - unless I wanted that person to get bitched out for no reason by a complete stranger and leave scratching their head saying, "Did that REALLY just happen??" Check out Yelp. com for my full, unabridged review of Pet Starz. Sorry Deb, but you've pissed off one loud mouthed woman!
I absolutely did have a serious!! problem with this person and the truth is this was Memorial weekend and we were sooooo busy and she was told at check in and signed paperwork agreeing to pick her dog up on tuesday and knew we would be closed on Memorial day and knew good and well that we do not do business on the closed day (Holiday) the office is closed and the staff is there to devote all there attention to the dogs and get alot of cleaning done etc. This woman seemed to think that because she wanted to pick her dog up she could just come and do so. We were kind enough to fit her dog in very last minute (she had not made an early reservation and her usual place was full) we try to help people out and she came to the door Memorial Day (we even have a sign on the door "closed" and a neon sign that says "closed" we have a half door that we open in the kennel room to let fresh air in and out and this woman either sent her husband to go to the back door and try and come in.. while she began banging on our door. We had an incendent when we first open where a man that seem weird tried to open out back door and it was very scary. The girls that were just bringing the dogs in for feeding were completely taken back and had to yell at this man to please stop trying to open the door. Believe me he did try and come in through the half door and was yelled at and then he left and went to his car. We have wonderful customers that are so respectful of our hours and who this woman thinks she is thinking she can just barge into a closed business just simply because she feels like it Its people like this that really un nerve me.. As I said it was a very busy weekend and I had actually stayed over at my business the night before because it was bad weather and I wanted to be sure the dogs were ok and not frightened... so needless to say I was very tired after that long thursday to monday of working. Did I have a word or two with this woman .. You bet I did!! Funny she didn't mention that an hour later she called and apologize but now writes this.. And as for the woman that wrote this.. if your reading this you need to learn to pay attention to the rules of the business that you decide to use so as not to cause incendents just like this one. I hope you learned a lesson from this. Really you should be ashamed of yourselves. We were actually just voted the Number one Pet Boarding Facility on Greatestaroundfayetteville.com and I realize that there are going to be some people that don't get their way and may put these sorts of comments on .. unfortunately I wish I didn't feel I had to defend myself and my business but people can be so rude.. when your in the wrong which she so was... just accept it and move on don't take to the internet and be mean.

Provided by YP.comHorrendous service. I came to Pet Starz because my dog had won Pet of the week at Q 98 radio station. I made an appointment over the phone and noticed that as soon as I mentioned I had the certificate their attitude had completely changed from nice to exasperated. The woman on the phone was very pushy to get me to commit to an expensive dog grooming package when all I wanted was a nail trim. When I arrived in person to get my dog groomed, I told the owner that I couldn't afford to do the complete package because of a delay on my paycheck. She immediately became very upset with me and started scolding me like I was a five year old child in front of all of her employees. She told me that it was a huge amount of work to groom a dog and that I was wasting her time. She also mentioned that I had obviously lied about my dogs weight and that she should charge me even more money to groom him. I was so shocked by her horrible attitude and customer service that I couldn't even speak. When she finally stopped talking I just said : Fine, do the nail trim and we will leave. I will never come back to this place and I discourage anyone from going there. I have no idea why she even offered the certificates as a prize when she treats the winners so poorly and like they are wasting her time. The prices are high, the grooming quality is low, and the customer service is awful.

Provided by YPmobileI brought my dog here with high expectations and was very dissapointed. They were rude to my wife and didn't even know the name of my dog and what he looked liked. They also lost his blanket and toys. My dog came out of thier looking nervous and stressed. This place is a huge let down and I would tell people its not worth thier money.
First of all we explain to not bring in personal belongings because of the fact that it might accidently get misplaced etc. Also understand that we see at least 20 dogs aday and sorry if we can remember all of them!!! I just really dont understand why you'd complain online and not speak to us about it first. But your being heard now. thank you petstarz

Provided by YP.comI love the temperment tests and records requirements they have--makes me relieved to know the management cares for the safety of our four-legged children while we are at work and school. When I take my dog here, he gets so excited! Reception is friendly and fast. The reception and employees have always been kind and friendly to me and my dog. Don't expect to have a full on chatfest here--they are running a dog boarding and daycare facility. If you have to wait a few minutes, please keep that in mind! When I pick my dog up from here, he is happy and bouncy, and then he sleeps the rest of the evening away (I guess he doesn't miss me LOL). I am very happy to have found a place like this, for a reasonable price (sorry, but doggie daycare is kinda pricey to begin with, and you get what you pay for!). The boarding area is really nice as well. Your dog will really enjoy Pet Starz!

Provided by YP.comI highly recommend Pet Starz. Until I took my Pug to be boarded there, I had to have him sedated for ALL his grooming needs at the veterinarian. I asked, if by chance, they could try and groom him while being boarded.
Not only did they groom him (bath, pedicure, teeth, etc.), but he looks forward to going at LEAST once a month for play dates and grooming.

I have the opposite opinion of Pet Starz. My Pug had to be sedated at the veterinarian to have ANYTHING done to him. I took him to Pet Starz to be boarded, and asked if on the slight chance they could try and groom him (i.e., bath, pedicure, etc.) while he was there. Not only did they do all of what I asked, he looks forward to going up there at LEAST once a month for play dates and grooming. No more sedation, and they do an excellent job.

Provided by YP.comThis establishment is dismal at best. The customer service is always horrible and the times that they are open for business always fluctuates. For most military folks, or anyone with a full time job the chess game upon which you can bring your pet in is rediculous. Went in to drop off my dog this morning and was there with another lady whom they let in and promptly locked me outside with no explination. The lady comes back out and the girl again quickly locks the door on me and the lady says I told her that you were out here. She got her cell phone out of her vehicle and called Pet Starz and the girl refused to answer finally coming back to the door after five minutes of this kind soul banging on the window of the establishment. Then as rudely as can be she opens the door and asks me if my dog has ever been there before and did I call ahead to bring her to day care! From the owner on down to the lowest level I have witnessed a systemic issue with rudeness and lack of professionalism and would not be fooled by the facade that they put on after a bad review. If an employee has to come on here and drop a blog in an attempt to quell some negative reviews it is an indicator!
I am sorry to see a customer leave such an unkind review like this. First of all we have only changed our hours once since we opened.. When we realized it would allow more customers to have time to drop off before work.. we were happy to change it to 7:30 instead of 8am; now this couple for some reason started coming during either times we were not open or in the midst of our closed nap time.. or Saturdays when we do not do daycare due to the busy weekend that we are boarding. On the information paperwork that all the owners fill out.. read.. and sign.. these times are clearly stated. We have a framed notice on the door that clears states the hours as well. When they came another time.. one of the couple said we should have a notice put up.. we pointed behind her to where the notice was and has been there for over a year. She said "OH". I think someone thinks that rules dont apply to them. We had a bit of a scary incident last year when we were opening one morning and so now the overnight person has been given strict instructions not to answer the door for anyone while she is here alone. Unless arrangements have been made by my myself or jamie; her duties are strictly to watch over the dogs and let them out in the am and start feedings.. so she was only doing what i told her. Im sorry if the way we operate our business does not work out with this couples schedule. After the person told my overnight person that i told him it was ok to come before we opened..(which was not true!) She offered to call me to see if i did and if she could let him in..(she did not know him and only works at night so does not know the customers) he just said nevermind and took off angry in his mercedes. I have tried so hard to accomadate them and they were never grateful. Sometimes people get here early and they are so nice and understanding of the rules they are happy to wait in the car until the morning staff arrives and the open sign is on!
