My husband and I both work for the food service in the Cumberland County Schools. We went to this shoe store because It was listed on the coupon that was issued through the school. He bought himself two pairs of shoes and I purchased one for myself, spending an additional $120.00 after the coupon. After the third time wearing the work shoes, I noticed that the arches had collapsed on both feet. These were obviously not the kind of shoes to be wearing in a kitchen for eight hours a day. I had the receipt which said, no refunds but exchanges accepted with receipt. I promptly went back to the store with the shoes looking for an exchange. I was told by the manager that there was nothing he could do for me because I did not have the box. I was not looking for my $70.00 back, I just needed another pair of work shoes. The receipt did not say anything about the box, however the manager showed me a small sign behind the register that stated their policy. He was very nice and sympathized with me and said he would talk with his boss and call me the next day. The next day I got the call late in the day because they were busy with a large order that day. Again, I was told there was nothing they could do for me. Im afraid the owner of this store has let his "fame and fortune" go to his head. He has forgotten that the little people are his bread and butter and word of mouth goes very far in this community. We had been good customers for the past three years, and I was willing to pay whatever the price to be comfortable. Shame on you sir! You do not deserve the privelige of being on the Cumberland County School voucher.
