Resume Lady was established in 2000 by Latrice DeBro, as a home based business providing resumes and cover letters to those overcoming addiction, abuse and homelessness; at times housing those that escaped the cycle of violence until shelter became available. In 2007 Resume Lady joined forces with "Life is Worth Living-Project Fresh Start" a program founded by Councilman-at-Large Charles Evans, dedicated to improving the quality of life to those that have been incarcerated; reaching hundreds - providing resumes, letters of explanation, information on housing, food banks and clothing for Job interviews. Recently Councilman-at-Large Evans and myself attended a meeting with the Mayors Executive Staff and Parole Board in NYC exchanging ideas on how to reduce the rate of recidivism. So much was learned that I can not wait to apply it to Resume Lady. Plans are in the works to meet with Walmart Executives about hiring felons in the NC area and hopefully all through the United States. October 10, 2013 Resume Lady became live on the internet followed by interviews with those that have been released from incarceration and have become successful members of society.
