We had our horses at VMR for ten years and watched many, many, young people experience their first horseback ride and develop the confidence by bonding with a horse. We moved on three years ago. Last month, we returned to again ride the hills of Forest 44. The welcome back from friends new and old was heartwarming. My horse stepped off the trailer, snorted, and recognized that he was home again. There is a reason that VMR has been around for 70+ years. They know horses and they know people. What more can you ask for??

I have never visited this place in my life - I had only heard of it. I went here on Sunday, around noon, to take a look at the place and see if I wanted to trust them with my greatest treasure of all - Tank. Needless to say, I fell in love. They are all about taking care of the horses and making sure they are in great shape. They know every horse by name, and are very observational - no wounds went by them unnoticed. I may have only met her once, but Sheila is a very knowledgeable, firm, and compassionate woman with and without horses. I know that this place is going to be a great home for my best friend.

Sheila and one of the older gentleman there were extremely rude and dismissive of my friend and I when we came out to ask questions about boarding. I have boarded from the tip of Florida to mid-Illinois and have never been treated so poorly. They will never have my business and I will be sure to warn people away from scheduling trail rides from their facility. I don't care how many years you have been established, that is no reason to dismiss a potential customer. After all, if they treat ME like that, I don't want to know how they would treat my horse.
