Provided by YP.comI LOVE 29 South. Everything I've had there has either been perfect or corrected until it was! Don't really like the wine you ordered, even when you were sure you would? No problem -- they will take you on a lovely tasting flight, working with you to find the exact flavor profile you are looking for, and then the exact wine. Food not as expected? Once again, no problem -- it will either be redone or replaced -- and all done with a smile and the attitude that they really care that you are happy, that they've pleased you and made your experience a (positively) memorable one. One of my favorite dishes was taken off the menu; I called a week before our visit to see if there was any way we could have that entree again...and they brought it back for the night, just for me! No one there even knows me, so it wasn't as if they were trying to please a big spender, or something -- just a regular ol' customer.

Provided by YP.com29 south is not the best restaurant to visit when you are going to downtown Fernandina. They have a garden out back where they pick their vegetables from but what they forget to mention and show is when the kitchen shuts down they clean and spray the dirt and chemicals out the back door which runs into that garden making it horrible for you to eat and could possible poison you. There was a small roach in my drink and when I told the server she told me she was sorry, they are trying to get rid of them and that they are having a problem with them right now in their ice bin? Who tells customers that and who serves guest of their establishment knowing that? Shut down and fix your problem before you kill someone.
They say that everything is organic and free range but they have a sysco truck that delivers the meat (i guess that the sysco truck picks the meat up from the farms for them as a favor...yeah right). The owner claims to be the best of the best chef but has not stepped foot into the kitchen unless it is to prepare his own food and takes all the credit for his awesome chefs. The wine is overpriced and the food is as well. The owner says that since he put on his menu that things were organic that makes it so that he can raise the prices and make more money.
The employees look like they are on drugs and are very rude to customers. I have heard more complaints than I have heard grace of this restaurant. There are so many great restaurants downtown that are so much better than this one and they are locally owned and the owners actually do prepare the food you eat. Try Espana and Joe's 2nd Street Bistro before you give this place your money.
