Located in the beautiful Ozark Mountains of North Central Arkansas, the town of Leslie is the home to George McIntosh Service and GeorgeMcIntoshService.com. Master Electrician & More George is proud to carry a Master Electricians license and also maintains a class "A" heating and air conditioning license. Although it is not required in the State of Arkansas, George carries complete Workmans Compensation Insurance and a General Liability Policy. Instead of just selling a product and service, George takes a lot of pride in finding ways to better serve the needs of his customers and the expansion of his skills and services through continued education. George obtained his heating and air conditioning training in 1980. Though he signed up for an appliance repair course to learn air conditioning, he patiently sat through the major home appliance service classes as well. It didn't take him long to realize this would be some good knowledge to apply in his first business endeavor. In May of 1981, George opened the doors to his first business - George McIntosh Service Company -- his appliance service skills immediately became fruitful for him. Knowingly, he placed his roots solidly in serving his customers with the best service available. George got a good feel of the people of the area and quickly learned of their doubts as to if he would manage to stay in business. Over the years a lot of different people had tried their turn at the heat & air business in the area and because of their failures, a lot of the residents were hesitate to try the 'new guy'. He also learned that there was a shortage of appliance repair service in the area. Instead of putting all his efforts into the heat and air business, he decided to first serve his customers best by being available to work on their appliances. After his humble beginnings in appliance repair, George began to slowly develop his heat and air client base as his clients needs expanded. His business has grown simply because he was honest with his customers & replaced parts ONLY if it was necessary. Expanded Services Much the same path George has always followed, as his clients needs expanded so has his services. As with most business ideas, the need often drives the development of the concept and client need, demand and acceptance will drive the growth of the company. In 1999 George McIntosh Service began rentals of portable heating and cooling climate control systems that could be temporarily installed and used during the construction phases of jobs. It was a system that could deliver complete temperature and humidity control year round (without concern for outdoor temperatures.) One that could help prevent the new heating and cooling duct systems from being filled with construction dust. And most importantly, a system that could help increase worker productivity and help keep the job on deadline. Although George started his portable heating and cooling business primarily for the construction market, he has had requests from all types of applications. Anytime you need the indoor climate controlled quickly, George has just the unit for the job. They can be rented by the day, week, or month. As use of George's Cooling & Heating Systems On Wheels has increased, so has the demand developed with area builders. From that demand, an extended number of uses and applications including Residential, Commercial, Industrial & Business, Tent Events and Emergency situations, have developed for these Systems. Most recently, George McIntosh Service now offers sales, installation, service and rental of standby generators from 15 kw up to 150 kw.
