The people in the Festus license office are the rudest and most incompetent bunch of people I have encountered in a long time. It has take over two weeks of making phones, going back and forth to their office for a license renewal. A LICENSE RENEWAL FROM THE LICENSE OFFICE should be a no brainer.



There is little to no communication between the License Office and the Driving License Office. The lady at the office where the driving test is taken told me and I quote, “The people on Main Street don’t know what we need in our office because of the amount of turnover.” That is what desktop procedures are for people!



We were not allowed to bring a hard copy of the proof of insurance because it had to be electronically sent to the License office (on Main St). Then when we go to take the driving portion of the test they will not accept an electronic copy, so back to the Main Street office (because it was closer than home) for a hard copy. We gets the hard copy and then goes back to take the test and we’re told that the office is closing in 5 minutes, so you can take the test today come back tomorrow.



But today’s turn of events was the final straw and why I am writing this review. After this two week long process - today we were told that my son’s birth certificate is too old to use as verification, so we will have to go purchase a new birth certificate before they are allowed to issue the license. That is the most idiotic thing I’ve ever heard. A birth certificate is issue at the time of you birth. It can only be as old as he is!!! Where’s the common sense in all of this...



Come on people stop the insanity… this is outrageous!
