I've boarded my horse here at Shady Pines Stables since the end of April 2014. So far, we love it here! To date, the owner/managers have been running these stables for 16 years, and they are a super nice couple who own 2 horses here themselves. One only needs to talk to Jay to realize his sense of humor, and that his wife, Dawn, compliments him. They appreciate their boarders (many of which are students from the U of F), and take good care of them as well as all the horses. The hay is NOT moldy, and the stalls are cleaned EVERY SINGLE DAY. They feed the same pellets as The University of Findlay's equine programs, utilize their equine veterinarians, and have acquired skilled farriers who come out on a regular basis. Shady Pines Stables' monthly boarding prices (full care or self care) are the most reasonable prices in the Findlay area, and with an indoor arena, very large outdoor arena, round pen, trails around their own hay fields, 12 x 12 stalls, an indoor wash rack with hot and cold water, and with access to Riverbend Recreational Park's horse trails only a short distance away, what's not to love about this place? An added bonus?...every boarder I've met out here has been very friendly and helpful, not to mention they all love their horses. Shady Pines Stables even has a resident riding instructor/trainer who graduated from the U of F's equine program who owns a pony riding business right there at the stables. She gives lessons to children, provides pony parties to groups for special occasions and birthdays, and is available to give lessons to adults as well. I am giving Shady Pines Stables 4 stars so far, because I haven't been here that long, but I really like it here so far, and I am so glad I found a great place to board my horse that has amenities I can use every day. Oh yes...they even have an observation room to the indoor arena which has a REAL restroom, not a port-a-potty. Again, what's not to love about this place? :)

scary

I kept my horses there for a year and i was appaled by the care as well as the turn-out. the indoor is tiny and the man who owns it is just plain rude. he is not horse savy and is just unable to help you with anything. there is often moldy hay and the stalls are not cleaned well.
