Provided by YP.comLast year, when looking for apartments I came across Highland Village. The outside looked very new and the model apartment looked great too. I did a little research and came across a review site where I read horrible review after horrible review. I ignored these reviews, thinking they were probably over-exaggerated and inacurate and move in anyway.
THIS WAS THE BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER!
My apartment had terribly worn carpet that was rippig in every corner, stained and torn linoleum, dirt-caked vents, a fridge riddled with knuckle dents from being punched, and a shower that didn't drain or have and water pressure.
I considered that maybe I was just unlucky and got stuck with a dud, but after looking at 5 other apartments at Highland Village where my friends were living, I could see that their situations were just as bad and even worse in some cases.
The facilities weren't the only terrible aspect though, the staff was just as bad. The people working in the office were rude, unhelpful, and very discriminatory and inconsistent on rules. The maintenance workers were nice, although when one of them came to fix my dish washer he flat out told me, "I have no idea what I'm doing".
To top it all off, the parking lot is a circular shape with a steep up-hill slant making it impossible to drive in the snow in a vehicle without four-wheel drive. I started parking in a different lot and walking home last winter until I got fed up and traded my car in for a four-wheel drive vehicle.
Noise at these apartments is another huge problem. I witnessed midnight parking-lot fights, countless parties every day of the week, and what sounded like someone using my ceilling as a trampoline. I cannot count the times I had to resort to calling the police for noise disturbance; Highland Village is not a place for peace and quiet.
With all things considered, I would NEVER recommend this apartment complex for anyone to live in. It is highly over-priced and not worth even the lowest of rent. DO NOT LIVE HERE, YOU WILL BE VERY DISAPPOINTED! Try looking somewhere else like Timberline Village or Butterfield.
