Stephen Ros, MD, PhD is a Fellowship Trained Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in Hand, Wrist and Elbow Surgery. Before joining Northern Arizona Orthopaedics, Dr. Ros received his fellowship training in Hand Surgery from Mount Sinai Beth Israel in New York City. He completed his residency at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Jersey. Dr. Ros earned his doctoral degrees, including a PhD, from Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He earned his biomedical engineering undergraduate degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University, where he graduated summa cum laude and a member of the University Honors Program. His primary practice includes treating patients for upper extremity fractures, tendon and ligament injuries, sports-related injuries and nerve injuries. Before becoming an orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Ros was a biomedical engineer and research scientist, developing novel implants and advancing care in the field of orthopaedics. His decision to pursue a career in surgery was determined during his collaborations with surgeons, seeing firsthand the impact physicians have on the well-being of their patients. Dr. Ros continues to stay active in the medical community by participating in orthopaedic research, publishing, and presenting at national conferences.
