Established in 2001, the Summit Fire District offers fire prevention, suppression and safety services. The fire district is comprised of various unincorporated areas that lie in the northeastern and northwestern region of Flagstaff in Arizona. It maintains a mutual aid agreement with the Flagstaff Fire Department. The fire district serves more than 9,500 residents spread over an area of more than 115 square miles. The Summit Fire District administers several fire stations and employs more than 40 full-time firefighters. It operates a wild land division and has a contract with the Arizona State Land Department for providing fire suppression vehicles and services.
