Because Medicare allows a doctor to bill $118 for "Durable Medical Goods", they gave me a bill for $118 for a $15 wrist brace and said "we're allowed to charge whatever we want" when I asked them why they were asking so much. My insurance company already paid $600 for my 40 minute visit. Go somewhere else if you can, or at least get them to tell you what they're going to charge up front. I asked how much the brace was when they put it on my wrist, and they replied "you'd be surprised." I should've know.
