I can't believe that the lowest (one-star) rating is described as "disappointing." In this case the single star means "despicable," "heartless" and "deplorable."Hunterdon Care Center neglected my mother so egregiously that she died as a result. We had to rescue her from this place by calling an ambulance. They tried to stop us from taking her away. She wasn't even conscious. She had MRSA, was severely dehydrated and suffering from acute kidney failure. She had not received any nourishment for days (including water). She also suffered from bed sores so horrible it looked like she had flesh-eating disease. She had pleurisy. Her roommate told me they would bring her meals in, then come back a while later and remove her tray--the food not touched. This happened for four days, during a period when we could not visit her. The kicker? My mom wasn't that old, having just turned 70, and she was NOT there as a nursing home patient; she was there for in-patient physical rehab! When we called to check on her the staff merely described her as "lethargic." It was sickening, appalling and wretched. They were unsympathetic and defensive when confronted after the fact. My parting words to them as I left with my mother's belongings: "I hope you all burn in hell for what you did to my mother."
