The Holmes Foundation administers gender-based academies that offer educational programs designed to develop young men and women. The academic program is aligned with the Michigan Department of Education s learning standards. Males and Females learn in separate environments that cater to their unique learning styles. It offers an educational program that includes instruction in English, history, math, science and technology education. The school organizes a range of athletic activities that includes basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball, and track and field. It conducts language classes in Spanish. The Holmes Foundation operates a library that provides a collection of books and research reports. It is located in Flint, Mich. The Holmes Foundation is governed by Flint Community Schools, which operates through career and technical education, maintenance and operations, curriculum and instruction, research and evaluation, early childhood programs and health services departments.
