Imagine that you had a friendly neighbor who worked for the phone company, and had all the tools, wire, ladders, testing equipment and such available in his car, and was willing to help you when your phones went on the fritz. That's the experience we got from Geoff at the Neighborhood Telephone Man. Because we no longer had inside wire maintenance from Verizon, having switched our phones to Cablevision, when our second line quit working after years of being static-filled, we didn't know who to call. Found Geoff from an online search, and then found some reassuring reviews in a few places. Long story short, he came promptly, made a nice appearance, very professional, took the time necessary to really find and properly-solve the problem once and for all, and charged a fair price. We felt we were so lucky to find him. The problem ended up being in a wire that ran outside the house (but was still our wire); it was located in a place that we had never seen, and Verizon had never checked when we had had them to the house in years past to address the static. Geoff found the problem and solved it for good: two weeks later, everything is crystal-clear.
