Provided by YP.com***HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE/RUINED ITEM/WOULD NOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY***Pendleton 100% wool (dry clean only) king size blanket ($300-2 years old-cleaned once before) was dropped off at Cappi's Cleaners for dry cleaning. I did not sign a damage waiver. I picked the blanket up a couple of weeks later (I live 45 miles away), and upon examination, discovered it had shrunk over 50% and was matted and heavy. It was apparent that the blanket had been washed. I notified the manager of Cappi's Cleaners by phone of the problem and was instructed to return the blanket. The manager said she remembered accepting the blanket and had tagged it dry clean only. After looking at the blanket, she confirmed that it had been washed. She tried to get in touch with the owner of Cappi's Cleaners at another dry cleaning store he owns (One Hour Martinizing-cleaning for both stores is done at that location) but he was unavailable. She left a message for him to call me. When I contacted the manager later, she said she had told the owner, John, about the problem and showed him the blanket. He told her that he would call me and resolve the problem. He did not call. When I finally reached him a week later, he was very nasty and rude. He insisted that the blanket had been dry cleaned, not washed. He said the blanket was an inferior product and he was not liable. He told me he would have a signed statement that the "item was dry cleaned" attached to the blanket when I picked it up and hung up the phone. I wish I had time to pursue this matter in Small Claims Court but it is 45 miles away and I work.
