The Public Works department is operated by the government of the City of Florence in South Carolina. The department s sanitary division offers garbage collection and recycling services. The sanitary division maintains a recycling information center. It recycles butter jars, newspapers, food containers, milk jugs, aluminum cans, and spray, soda and cooking oil bottles. The Public Works department maintains a stormwater operations division that is responsible for installation and maintenance storm drains and drainage ditches. The department also offers stormwater management band treatment services. In addition, the Public Works department provides waste hauling and compositing services through its wastewater treatment division.
